Minister Redman released his first set of industry plans that are set to refocus his 1500 staff strong Department of Agriculture and Food. Separate draft plans for the grains, animal and livestock, horticulture and food industry were released with a strong message to industry that plans should focus now much stronger on industry needs. A move highly welcomed by some 40 industry representatives participating in this presentation at Parliament House. Consultation rounds will be held at various locations over the next weeks. Feedback is required to be received by 5 October 2009 . The FIA is preparing a response to the launched draft plan. The seminars will entail a briefing on each plan and what the department can offer, followed by discussions and feedback. For the morning seminars - please stay after for lunch and a chance to network with other businesses.
