New Product Development Chef - Vesco Foods - published 29 April Vesco Foods is a successful Australian owned food processing company. The Company has a first class reputation for the preparation and processing of frozen convenience meals for well-known national customers. This is a ‘hands-on’ role in the development of new products from concept to launch for our various domestic and overseas customers. Your main responsibilities will include the development of new recipes to meet specific requirements including finished good cost, nutritional values, type of ingredients and packaging to use as well as quality standards. As part of this role, you will be required to organise internal taste panels, work with other departments to generate cost-efficient products as well as accurately document new recipes and input written and numerical information into electronic systems. Your input will also be necessary to help successfully transfer new products from kitchen concepts to factory productions. You will ideally possess a minimum of 2 years product development experience in a food manufacturing or research & development environment, with base qualifications as a Food Technologist, a Qualified Chef or a Butcher. You will display a combined cooking and technical ability, able to manage multiple tasks within a set time frame in a dynamic, fast moving working environment. The successful candidate will have a keen interest for food, a clear understanding of world cuisine and flavours, good time management skills, attention to detail for accurate data recording and excellent numeracy and literacy skills. Your creativity will ensure your suitability, as you will be required to create and improve new and existing recipes benchmarked against the market place. If you thrive in a busy, challenging role then this could be the next step you are looking for. Experience with Pronto and PRMS would be highly regarded but is not essential. Training and development as well as career advancement will be offered to the right person.
