100 people attend FIA Business Sundowner on Food & Naked Branding | 2 September PDF Print E-mail

The FIA Business Sundowner held on Thursday September 2nd attracted a record attendance of over 100 people from the WA food and beverage industry. The relaxed seminar on Food and Naked Branding; Creating, Building, and Protecting Brands, offered guests the opportunity to sample fantastic food, wine and beer at the University Club of Western Australia, while networking with industry colleagues and our guest speakers, Mr. Howard Cearns, Director Braincells and Little Creatures Brewing and Mr. Tony Joyner, Partner & Senior Commercial Lawyer, Freehills Law Firm.

Howard Cearns, Founder and Chairman of brainCELLS Creative Marketing and founder of Little Creatures Brewing, gave a fascinating insight into driving brand awareness, market research, targeting customer market segments, customer loyalty, generating sales and the investment in developing and managing brand strategies. His presentation showed practical and tangible aspects of brand development and strategy, to channel planning, across all aspects of design and creative concept development, the execution and implementation of branding and how and why its adds value to a business.

Tony Joyner, Senior Commercial Lawyer and Partner of national law firm Freehills looked at some of WA's great brands and provided an intriguing presentation into the world of Intellectual Property covering a wide range on commercial IP transactions, including IP protection, licensing and IP transfer transactions, and IP strategy and management. Tony’s branding team at Freehills recently reviewed the brand management of WA’s top 100 companies, with astounding and somewhat troubling results, which Tony demonstrated in his presentation and illustrated his findings with some entertaining stories from around the world of ‘branding gone wrong’.

The FIA would like to thank all who attended and hope that you found the sundowner interesting and beneficial. Our next Business Sundowner is scheduled for November.  Details coming soon.  We hope to see you there again!
